The doctor's surgeries are held by appointment from 8.30am to 11am and from 3pm to 6pm each weekday.  The average time for an appointment is 10 minutes.

We aim to see patients within 30 minutes of the appointment time or provide an explanation for the delay. These are occasions when a doctor maybe delayed and we would appreciate your patience when this happens.  Appointments are set aside daily (usually at 11.30am) for urgent problems, but you may not be able to see your usual doctor at that time. If you feel the problem is urgent, please let reception staff know.

Please make a separate appointment for each person. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please inform the surgery as soon as possible to enable the appointment to be offered to another patient.

Telephone Consultations

We are able to offer telephone consultations with doctors and nurses.  If you require telephone advice please give your contact telephone number to the receptionist and a doctor or nurse will ring you back when he/she is free.  Messages will not be left on answer machines in order to maintain confidentiality.

Evening and Saturday Appointments

Are currently available on Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm - 8.00pm and Saturday from 8.00am - 11.30am.  These are pre-booked appointments aimed at Workers and Commuters who cannot attend at other times.  Anyone requiring emergency care or a home visit during these times should contact the Out of Hours Service by telephoning NHS 111.

Practice Nurse appointments are held from 8.30am to 1:00pm and 2pm to 6pm weekdays. Appointments can be made to see the nurse by contacting reception where the appropriate length of time can be reserved for the procedure or consultation you have requested.

This means with your approval, we could arrange for you to have your medicine made up and available for you to collect at the surgery. You would order your medicines as you do now, allowing us 2-3 working days to order them in for you.  Please inform our reception staff if you would like us to do this for you. Unfortunately NHS regulations prevent us routinely dispensing to those patients who live in Stamford itself.

The dispensary is open - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm.

If you have a regular prescription you may request a repeat of it by telephoning our dispensary between 8.30am-6.30pm Monday to Friday. (Telephone Number 0844 4996624). Alternatively, you may leave the tear off slip, attached to your computer printed prescription, at dispensary reception. Please allow two working days before collecting your prescription. If you wish to receive your prescriptions by post, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.

Emergency Supply of Medicines

If you require an emergency supply of medication when the surgery is closed please telephone NHS where the Out of Hours service will offer you advice.
