The Newsletter appears three or four times a year, and is produced using Microsoft Word.
The system is this:
1. The Editor emails Dr John Mitchell, the Practice Manager, and David Baxter asking for contributions.
2. From these, he produces a draft of the Newsletter incorporating clip art, photos, etc. of his choice.
3. This is then emailed to the Practice Manager and a number of proof readers.
4. From any suggested corrections and alterations, the Editor produces and prints final copy. This he takes to a volunteer member of the Friends' Committee who takes it to Castle Cement. They produce 500 copies which the volunteer staples and takes to the Surgery for display in the waiting rooms.
5. The final job for the editor is to email copies to those patients who have asked to receive them by this means.
